The history of wheatgrass is long. In fact, it was used more than 5,000 years ago by the ancient Egyptians. The patients were divided into two distinct groups- half of the group received 3 ounces of wheatgrass juice and the other half received a placebo for one month.

At the conclusion of the study, it was determined that wheatgrass juice can help significantly reduce the symptoms of ulcerative colitis and can reduce the severity of rectal bleeding. Additionally, none of the participants experienced any serious side effects during the study.
