7 Tips To Boost Your Immune System

7 Tips To Boost Your Immune System

A strong immune system can help fight disease and stay healthy. To do so, one needs to practice good hygiene, have a healthy lifestyle, take supplements, avoid smoking, and lessen stress.

Having a superior immune system is a quality that all people must possess today. With the rising numbers caused by the pandemic disease due to the coronavirus, it is important that people must boost their immune systems. Most viral diseases do not have treatment. Humans depend on immunizations to help them produce specific antibodies for a specific viral disease.

Yet, there are still a number of viral diseases that has still no vaccines available. One of these is the respiratory disease caused by the trending and fatal Covid-19 virus. The only way that a person can prevent this disease is through proper hygiene and boosting his immune system. Here are some ways that one can do to make his immune system stronger.

Sleep

It is important that a person must have an average of 7 hours of sleep a day. In doing so, the person will allow his body to recharge. It also allows his body to recuperate from the wear and tear that was experienced during the day. By sleeping, one gives the body the opportunity to search for old cells and replace them with new ones. This is also true for the immune cells. In doing so, the body will have all the necessary things it needs to do each task and to fight any microorganisms that can cause diseases.

Exercise

Exercise can also help improve immune responses of the body. During exercise, all the parts, like organs, will be well-infused with blood because it can increase cardiovascular activity. When there is an adequate blood supply to the area, more oxygen will also be delivered in that area. In addition, the blood carries all the important nutrients to manufacture the immune cells, as well as keep the immune organs functioning. Further, exercising will help a person maintain his ideal weight.

Boost Your Immune System

Healthy diet

A healthy diet is a balanced diet. There must be a balance between how much carbohydrates, fats, and proteins a person needs to take per meal. One also needs to include fruits and vegetables and have plenty of servings per day since these foods supply the body with vitamins and minerals. It is also helpful when a person adds fiber to his diet. Fiber feeds the good bacteria in the gut and thus, increases its number. When the good bacteria dominate in number as compared to bad bacteria, this will boost the immune response of the gastrointestinal system of the person.

Vitamin C supplement

When a person is not eating enough citrus fruits, he can take vitamin c supplements to meet his daily requirements. Vitamin C has many immune-boosting functions. It is needed in the production of lymphocytes and white blood cells. These cells are majorly responsible for fighting bacteria and viruses when they enter the body. In addition, vitamin C will also increase the viability of white blood cells by making sure that it is not destroyed by free radicals. It also keeps the skin healthy. The skin is the primary defense of the body against disease-causing organisms. Like a gate, the skin plays an important role in keeping invaders outside of the body. Vitamin C plays a major role in supplying the skin antioxidants and to promote wound healing when it is damaged.

Omega 3 supplements

Studies have also shown that taking omega-3 supplements can help boost the immune system. In the past, this long-chain fatty acid was only used to reduce inflammation. However, research shows that this can also increase the number of B cells in a person's body. B cells are white blood cells that will produce antibodies against bacteria and viruses. A person must make sure that he uses only the high-quality ones to get the desired effect. Online stores have a wide variety of the best omega 3 supplements that boast of superior quality among other brands in the market today.

Stop smoking

Smoking can decrease the overall health of the body. It will also predispose a person to develop multiple types of cancer. In addition, this will lessen the response of the immune system, especially in the respiratory tract. Cilia are easily damaged by smoking cigarettes. When this is destroyed, germs can easily go in and out of the lungs and its tubes.

Minimize stress

Lastly, it is a must that a person learns to control one’s stress levels. In small amounts, stress can help a person perform. However, if it is constant and high in intensity, it can be very damaging to one's immune system and overall health. When the body is stressed, it releases the steroid called cortisol. When this builds up inside the body, it has the ability to suppress the response of immune cells during the invasion of microorganisms.

With the recent viral outbreaks that the world is experiencing today, it is a must that people should be proactive with their health, especially if there are no vaccines available yet. A person must boost one’s immune system so that he will have a fighting chance against the virus. To do so, he needs to practice good hygiene, have a healthy lifestyle, take supplements, avoid smoking, and lessen stress. This will surely help his body to be in its best shape and able to fight against an invading virus.
