Manganese

Manganese is required in human body in trace amounts. It is found primarily in the Manganese super-oxide dismutase enzyme (MnSOD) which neutralizes free radicals present in the body. At most 20 mg of manganese is required at any given time and is concentrated in liver, kidneys, pancreas and bones.

Manganese aids the formation of bones, connective tissue, essential enzymes and blood-clotting factors. It helps with carbohydrate and fat metabolism, blood sugar regulation and calcium absorption. Manganese helps activate enzymes that further utilize key nutrients such as Vitmain E, Biotin, Thiamine and Choline. Naturally obtained manganese also plays a vital role in normal thyroid and brain function. It is also helpful with infertility and lactation.
